Stuart Mudge

Dr Stuart Mudge has more than 25 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, spanning consulting and operational leadership across emerging, internationally focused biotechnology companies.

Stuart has led cross-functional teams responsible for achieving marketing approvals in the USA and Europe, including in rare diseases/orphan drugs, and played instrumental roles in mergers and acquisitions involving product franchises and manufacturing sites. Stuart has developed and led the execution of a number preclinical and clinical programs, including Industry/Academic collaborations.  Stuart’s experience includes numerous direct interactions with global regulatory authorities, including the: US FDA, European Medicines Agency,  UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency,  and Australian Therapeutics Goods Administration.

Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Lateral Pharma, Stuart’s prior roles have included VP Scientific Affairs at specialty pharma Mayne Pharma, and General Manager/Senior Consultant at Voisin Consulting Life Science. He began his career at Australian biopharma giant CSL in regulatory affairs.

Stuart has a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Melbourne. He is also a co-inventor on several international patents and an author on numerous scientific publications.
